The Andes Expedition
Earlier this year, Appalachian State University Professor and Climatologist Baker Perry accomplished yet another lifetime, and record-breaking, goal for science and for mountaineering when he placed the Western Hemisphere’s highest weather station as part of a National Geographic Expedition to the 19,000-foot Chilean summit atop Tupungato.
The Everest Expedition
In 2019, Baker’s team set the world record for highest weather station when they installed weather tracking equipment near the summit of Mount Everest.
